Q: “What inspired this piece?”

A: “I wanted to learn how to shade projects better, so I think that doing this project would really help.”

Q: “What were some of the struggles that you faced?”

A: “THE LETTERS!!! I hate the letters! That was the worst part.”

Q: “What was the creative process like?”

A: “It was a lot of work. You had to draw the shape of it first and then go from there!”

Melina Durham, Grade 11, VSCO

Melina Durham, Grade 11, VSCO

Q: “What inspired this piece?”

A: “There wasn’t a lot of choices, but I knew that I liked taking pictures so it seemed best. The reason I titled it VSCO is because it’s my favorite editing app for pictures.”

Q: “What were some of the struggles that you faced?”

A: “Making it look real. Shading in the right direction.”

Q: “What was the creative process like?”

A: “When I was first doing it, I really didn’t like it because I felt it looked flat. But, the more highlights and shadows I put in, it looked more real.”

Giulia Lusetti, Grade 11, Untitled

Q: “What inspired this piece?”

A: “It was the only one that I could see.”

Q: “What were some of the struggles that you faced?”

A: “Shading and drawing.”

Q: “What was the creative process like?”

A: “I look at the picture and then I just start drawing and shading.”
